Hello Friend, I’m Vanessa!
A little about me:
I’m passionate about crafting a simple, practical, and meaningful life for me and my family. It is one of my goals in life to be a good steward of all of the resources that God has blessed us with. We strive to use our money and resources wisely so that we may be a blessing to others. When my hubby and I got married, we worked diligently to pay off over 50k in debt. It was hard work, but we were able to do it in less than 3 years. I’m a firm believer that anyone can do it when you are willing to make sacrifices and keep the big picture in mind.
One of our dreams is to buy land and build our little homestead. We’re not sure when or where that’s going to happen, but we’re slowly building up our skills so we can begin when it’s our time. I want to use the gifts that God has given us through His creation to make my own herbal remedies and concoctions for my family. I treasure items that are vintage; I love imagining who used it in years past and what kind of life they lived. I’ve always been fascinated by the Amish and regularly dream of what it would be like to walk in their shoes.
I love to write and read. My happy place would be enjoying a warm beverage while sitting in a cozy cabin surrounded by books (think Beauty and the Beast library) and watching the sunrise.
I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety extensively since I was a child. I have finally taken the step to get the help that I need in order to become the best version of myself for my family and friends. I know that with the help of my Heavenly Father, I’ll be able to make those strides towards healing.
I met my hubby when I was a senior in college and we became instant friends. We started dating my Spring semester and the rest was history! We had a long distance relationship, encompassing dating to marriage, for almost 2.5 years. We are now a family of three! We welcomed our son, TJ into the world July 2016 which has made our cup overflow with joy!
I love delving into deep conversations with friends and family. I’m fiercely loyal and it brings me joy and delight to nurture those relationships. I also enjoy learning about personalities. I am an ISFJ-T (in case you couldn’t tell from all that was said above). I think it’s pretty cool that I have the same personality type as Queen Elizabeth II and Kate Middleton! 🙂
