I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with The One Who Sees Me. However, I was pleasantly surprised with how much of a page turner it was! The One Who Sees Me is a tale of Faru, a servant girl, who becomes the handmaiden of Lady Cwen who is married to Lord Cegrol. They run a prosperous castle and Faru finds herself enjoying her new masters.
It took me a short time to realize I was reading a rendition of the story of Abraham from Hagar’s perspective! Author Kandi Wyatt did a magnificent job telling this well-known story from an entirely different perspective and in a whole new land. She develops these characters in relatable ways! Wyatt does a wonderful job bringing the characters to life and it made me even more interested to see how she would tell the story from the eyes of Faru. The One Who Sees Me brought a whole new angle to this story that is well known among Christians and it made me appreciate even more the Sovereignty and Grace of God!
One of the results of reading this story that I did not expect was how it made me start thinking of how the stories of the Bible would be interpreted differently in our day and age. It started to appreciate even more how God is the God of all time and He never changes through generation to generation! I guarantee that The One Who Sees Me will give you a greater appreciation of God’s Word through the eyes of another and it will get your creative juices flowing as you start thinking of how God works in mysterious ways! I was reminded that no matter what I’m going through in life, God sees the BIG picture and He knows that everything will work out for those that love Him! Five stars for The One Who Sees Me! I received this book in exchange for a review from Booktrope Publishing.
